Thanksgiving is a time of gathering and reflection. This year, for us, it was also a springboard into the wide wide world. We spent a few days, gathering and reflecting, with Pam and some of her family. While we were there, Micah and Rachel and their new son Luca drove in from Ashland to share time with us. We were grateful to be able to be with everyone, as well as to take a few breaths before skipping over to Kauai for our next stop.
Bread is a symbol of companionship. Breaking bread with someone creates a bond of friendship. In Spanish, compañero or in English, companion, means “people who share bread.” Two people who share bread can trust each other.
